TV show, based on Robert Kirkman’s zombie series, premieres Halloween night.By Rick Marshall

This weekend, hordes of flesh-hungry zombies will finally shamble their way from printed page to television screen as AMC premieres its new post-apocalyptic horror series “The Walking Dead” on Halloween night.
Based on writer Robert Kirkman’s long-running comic book series that debuted in 2003, “The Walking Dead” chronicles the trials and tribulations of former Kentucky police officer Rick Grimes as he struggles to first find then protect his family in a nightmarish landscape where corpses walk and living humans are an endangered species.
The premiere of “The Walking Dead” culminates just over a year of casting, filming and near-constant conversation about the project among comic book and horror fans, and puts Oscar-winning filmmaker Frank Darabont (“The Shawshank Redemption,” “The Mist”) in the director’s chair for the pilot episode, “Days Gone Bye.” No stranger to horror fare, Darabont also serves as executive producer of the series, and wrote or co-wrote each episode in the initial six-episode arc.
When MTV News visited the set of “The Walking Dead” in June, the fan-favorite auteur discussed the project amid overturned cars and abandoned military vehicles in a closed-off section of downtown Atlanta — with a massive crowd of background actors made up to look like zombies milling about just a few feet away.
Comparing the tone of the series to a classic western, Darabont likened lead actor Andrew Lincoln to well-known Hollywood heroes of the Old West, such as “High Noon” star Gary Cooper.
“I always kind of knew it, but it really came home as we’ve been shooting the last few days — it really does turn into a Western at times,” Darabont said. “You see [Lincoln] riding into the dusty streets of the town here, only it happens to be Atlanta with these skyscrapers, [and] it’s a very cool mix of visual elements. There’s a little John Ford meets ‘I Am Legend’ thing going on here.”
Kicking off with a 90-minute premiere, “The Walking Dead” has AMC hoping it has yet another award-winning series on its hands to tout alongside such recent hits as “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad.” In fact, Lincoln recently told MTV News it was the latter of those two series that inspired Darabont’s approach to “The Walking Dead.”
“He said, ‘I want you to watch two things,’ ” Lincoln said of his early conversations with Darabont about the role. ” ‘Breaking Bad,’
which is a show he was a huge admirer of, so I rewatched the first series. And he said, ‘Watch Gary Cooper,’ so I watched ‘High Noon.’ ”
For Darabont, the tonal connection between the two projects was so significant that he recruited “Breaking Bad” director/producer Michelle MacLaren to direct the series’
second episode.
Still, despite the connections between “The Walking Dead” and any existing movie or television projects, Darabont and the series’
creative team and cast have remained adamant about one aspect throughout the project’s development: The source of its appeal lies firmly in the characters, tone and visual foundation established by Kirkman and the comic book’s artists, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard.
“What I find is that we’re very much on course with the philosophy we approached the show with,” Darabont told MTV News earlier this month.
“From the very first, I always said to Robert Kirkman, ‘I want to follow the narrative path you’ve laid out, but I want to take as many interesting detours and step off the path for a little bit as [much as] we can, as long as it feels organic to the overall.’ ”
“The Walking Dead” premieres Sunday, Halloween night, at 10 p.m. ET on AMC.

Latest G.O.O.D. Friday joint features Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Charlie Wilson and Curtis Mayfield sample.By Mawuse Ziegbe

Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images
Even though his fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, is just weeks away from landing on shelves, Kanye West is still cranking out gratis G.O.O.D. Music joints. Although cutting-edge spitters Kid Cudi and Jay-Z appear on the track, the Chicago MC’s newest offering, “The Joy,” is a nod to the past, featuring nude ’70s vixen Pam Grier on the MP3 art, buttery production courtesy of beat kingpin Pete Rock, vocals from Charlie Wilson and a contribution from soul icon Curtis Mayfield.
“Joy” is centered around Mayfield’s vocals from “The Makings of You,” a cut from his 1970 debut Curtis. (Yeezy has turned to Mayfield’s catalogue in the past, sampling “Move On Up” for West’s Late Registration single “Touch The Sky.”) West helms the first two verses, using his bars to reflect upon love making, child bearing and getting out of his own way.
“I never understood Planned Parenthood/ ‘Cause I never met nobody plan to be a parent in the ‘hood,” ‘Ye spits. “Taking refills of that Plan B pill/ Another shorty that won’t make it to the family will.”
West drops a few words for critics ready to attack his latest moves, saying, “Though the Jewelry’s Egyptian, know the hunger’s Ethiopian,” and, “This beat deserves Hennessy, a bad bitch and a bag of weed, the Holy Trinity/ In the mirror where I see my only enemy.”
Jay-Z follows up and indulges in some ’70s nostalgia, spitting lines like, “This is my momma sh–/ I used to hear this through the walls in the ‘hood when I was back on my pajama sh– /Afros and marijuana sticks/ Seeds and the ganja had it popping like the sample that I’m rhyming with.”
Kid Cudi keeps a low profile on the cut, adding a simple, positive mantra to the collabo and coolly reciting phrases like, “Keep your hands up” and “Don’t let them take your fire.”
The song languidly peters out as Rock adlibs, “Pete Rock, Kanye, Okay.”

Stepping out for a good cause, Sienna Miller turned up for the UNESCO Charity-Gala in Duesseldorf, Germany on Saturday (October 30).
Held at the Maritim Hotel, the “Factory Girl” actress worked the red carpet as she supported Donatella Versace in raising funds for UNESCO?s Education for Children in Need program.
In related news, reports out of the UK tell that Miss Miller has buried the hatchet with boyfriend Jude Law’s ex Sadie Frost – as the two joined together this past week to celebrate Law’s daughter Iris’ 10th birthday.
The day of togetherness happened to be the first time the stars have been willing to join alongside one another since Sienna and Jude rekindled their romance late last year.

Comedian tells fans rally was about working together, not ‘ridicule.’By Mawuse Ziegbe
Jon Stewart speaks at the “Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear”
Photo: Win McNamee/Getty Images
Jon Stewart’s “Rally to Restore Sanity And/Or Fear” Saturday (October 30) was a smorgasbord of the satire and send-ups of pundits, politicians and public issues Stewart’s “The Daily Show” has specialized in for years. However, at the end of the three-hour event at the National Mall in Washington DC, Stewart used that same incisive humor to drive home the point that Americans aren’t as crazy as the media would have us believe, and that the everyday triumphs that don’t make the news are truly representative of the American people.
Stewart kicked off speech by addressing the question that was likely on many attendees and viewers minds: What exactly was the point of the rally? Stewart ventured to answer the question, suggesting, “Some of you may have seen today as a clarion call for action.” He also considered the possibility of wayward tourists getting caught in fray, joking, “Clearly some of you just wanted to see the Air and Space Museum and just got royally
screwed.”
Then Stewart broke down the intentions of the rally, which he maintained was not simply about poking fun.
“This was not a rally to ridicule people of faith, or people of activism, or to look down our noses at the heartland or passionate argument, or to suggest that times are not difficult and that we have nothing to fear. They are and we do. But we live now in hard times, not end times,” Stewart declared, to the roar of thousands of attendees swarming the site.
He went on to examine the role of the press in exacerbating conflict among Americans.
“The country’s 24-hour, political pundit, perpetual, panic conflict-inator did not cause our problems. But its existence makes solving them that much harder,” he said. “If we amplify everything, we hear nothing.”
Stewart cautioned listeners about buying into propaganda that may obscure the real issues citizens should be tackling.
“Not being able to distinguish between real racists and Tea Party-ers, or real bigots and Juan Williams or Rick Sanchez, is an insult, not only to those people, but to the racists themselves who have put in the exhausting effort it takes to hate,” Stewart said, referencing former CNN anchor Sanchez, who was booted from the network for his unsavory comments about Stewart and other Jewish Americans. “Just as the inability to distinguish terrorists from Muslims makes us less safe, not more.”
Stewart maintained he feels “strangely, calmly good” because he doesn’t take media portrayals at face value. Yet, he conceded he understands how certain representations can hinder honest, straightforward dialogue about significant issues.
“The image of Americans that is reflected back to us by our political and media process is false. It is us through a funhouse mirror … the kind where you have a giant forehead and an ass shaped like a month-old pumpkin,” he said. “Why would you reach across the aisle to a pumpkin-assed, forehead eyeball monster?”
Stewart said he knows that most people reach across the aisle when it matters, saying, “We work together to get things done every damn day! The only place we don’t is here [points to White House] or on cable TV.”
“Most Americans don’t live their lives solely as Democrats, Republicans, Liberals or Conservatives. Americans live their lives more as people that are just a little bit late for something they have to do. Often something they do not want to do. But they do it. Impossible things [are accomplished] every day that are only made possible through the little reasonable compromises we all make,” he said.
Referencing a screen playing footage of cars slowly inching through traffic, Stewart used the image of the highway as metaphor for how Americans make those compromises, ceding the road when necessary and recognizing that everyone is headed toward a similar goal. He also touched on the diversity of drivers on the road, noting that the cars could be steered by anyone from a mom with two kids to a “Mormon Jay-Z fan.”
While Stewart opened his speech outlining the messages he wanted to relay through the rally, he closed by explaining what the event meant to him.
“Sanity has always been in the eye of the beholder,” he said, “And to see you here today, and the kind of people that you are, has restored mine.”

Star tweets picture of finalized fifth album that confirms tracks like ‘Monster’ and ‘Lost in the World’ will be included.By Mawuse Ziegbe

There has been much speculation about which songs will make the cut for Kanye West’s upcoming release, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The superstar spitter recently ended much of that speculation by tweeting a picture of the final album, which revealed the LP’s track list.
“We finally done! Toast!” West short film “Runaway,” such as the all-star collabo “All Of The Lights” and the final song of the movie, “Lost in the World.” Some of the MC’s G.O.O.D. Friday joints appear on the album, including “Monster,” “Devil in a New Dress” and Yeezy’s favorite “So Appalled.” The MC’s two official singles, “Power” and “Runaway,” seem to have landed on the record as the third and ninth joints, respectively.
Just last Saturday, when Yeezy sat down with MTV for a live Q&A session following the premiere of “Runaway,” the MC revealed he wasn’t sure which songs would make the album, but did hint at which tracks may be released as bonus cuts.
“And we got a few bonus tracks, like ‘See Me Now,’ ‘Mama’s Boy’ and some bonus tracks after that. There’s like 13 or 14 songs … maybe ‘Chain Heavy’ will be on there. We have to make a decision by tomorrow,” he said.
West, who ripped into hackers when “Lost in the World” was prematurely leaked in September, also maintained that the tracks slated to appear on Fantasy will be of superior quality to any of the tracks circulating on the Web.
“So there’s maybe 13 or 14 tracks, but they’re way produced. Far from any bootleg, far from any hacker,” he insisted. “A hacker, man, can’t give you what I can give you once it’s the whole product.”

Hopkins plays a priest in the supernatural drama, which comes out January 28.By Eric Ditzian
Anthony Hopkins and Marta Gastini in “The Rite”
Photo: Warner Bros.
Halloween is almost upon us. What better time to plunge into a world of demon possession, exorcisms and the unsettling feeling that something very freaky is taking place?
That’s what “The Rite” is dialing up for audiences come January 28, and MTV News has an exclusive look at the production with a photo of stars Anthony Hopkins and Colin O’Donoghue exorcising a supernatural force.
Yet this is a film that takes a rather agnostic stance on the entire concept, as O’Donoghue told us. “It’s more of a psychological drama, more so than horror,” he said. “The point of the film is to explore the idea of whether it’s a psychological illness or a true possession, trying to take as unbiased a position as possible.
(Check out an exclusive photo from “The Rite”)
“There are some moments that will make you jump,” he added. “People are bound to be a little freaked out by it.”
The 29-year-old Ireland native, who plays a seminary student thrust into the world of the Vatican’s exorcism school, is playing his highest-profile role to date. And when O’Donoghue found out he’d be going toe-to-toe with Hopkins — who plays a Roman Catholic priest with rather atypical methods — he was more than a little unsettled.
“To be honest, I freaked out a little bit,” he laughed.
Yet O’Donoghue said that Hopkins immediately made him feel comfortable. “He mentored me when I was struggling to get where I wanted to be in the scene,” O’Donoghue said. “He was really patient and we’d run lines together. He’d say, ‘At the end of the day, sometimes you just have to let it go and the scene will actually work.’ ”
The actor also attended actual exorcisms with the assistance of Matt Baglio, who wrote the book on which the movie is based. “The idea of going to them was more frightening than actually being in them,” O’Donoghue said. “[Matt] had been to the exorcism school and he knew some exorcists who were willing to let me in, as long as it was okay with the people who were being blessed. Some people were and one woman wasn’t and she wanted to close the door. It’s a different experience than you expect it to be. It’s like going to a therapist. It was fascinating to watch.”

Plus: ‘Hangover’ breakout star Ken Jeong is ‘just happy’ he’s involved in the sequel.By Kara Warner
Todd Phillips

With all the talk surrounding “Hangover 2″ — specifically Mel Gibson’s heavily hyped cameo being scrapped/ switched to Liam Neeson due to alleged disgruntled reactions from Zach Galifianakis and the rest of the cast — what we’re really missing are details about the plot.
Here’s what we know so far: The film is being shot in L.A. and Thailand, with the boys (Bradley Cooper, Galifianakis, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha) headed to the Far East on some sort of all-dude excursion.
When we caught up with director Todd Phillips and breakout star Ken Jeong at the premiere of “Due Date,” we asked them for a few sequel teases. What takes the boys to Thailand?
“A plane,” Phillips answered cheekily, indicating he wouldn’t be divulging any secrets at all.
And how did Phillips choose Neeson for the cameo? “There’s a lot of people [we considered],” he said. “He has gravity. Liam brings a sense of gravity. But, you know, it’s a cameo, and we don’t like to talk about it, because it’s [supposed to be] a surprise and now it’s … I don’t like to justify it.”
As for Jeong, we tried our best to find out what his zany character might be up to as well.
“No comment!” he exclaimed. “I’m just happy that I’m in it. For me, this is not predestined to happen so I’m just so happy I’m involved in any moment. Anything Todd asked me to do, I would do. Anything.”
What do you think of all the “Hangover 2″ talk? Will it be as good as the first film? Share your thoughts in the comments!

This year’s “Today” show Halloween segment may have been short on Matt Lauer, but the show made up for it thanks to cameos from Will Ferrell and Tina Fey as their “Megamind” characters. But even those superstars were upstaged by some crafty costumes worn by the “Today” show hosts Friday morning (October 29).
In what turned out to be one complex segment, the Halloween fun started with Lauer and Roker looking at “Megamind” footage in a pretaped segment. Then the story went a bit zany. As Roker escorted a Clark Kent-looking Lauer out of the building, Lauer used his highly sensitive hearing to sense that Fey was in trouble.
In order to become Superman, he entered a phone booth to call Ferrell’s Megamind to meet up with him, and out came Roker, in Lauer’s place, as Superman. Ferrell and Roker then rushed to the side of Fey (dressed as “Megamind” reporter Roxanne Ritchi) to save her and toss to an old-timey newsreel, in which Ann Curry made her entrance as Amelia Earhart, who apparently had been hiding out in 30 Rock for the better part of a century.
Once she reemerged in the modern world, Earhart said she’d noticed that a lot has changed. Like what? Well, music. With that, Natalie Morales came out playing a convincing Justin Bieber, all the way down to the dance moves during “Baby.”
But it was Meredith Vieira as the “monster of all monsters,” Lady Gaga, dressed in the Armani orbit gown the singer wore to the Grammy Awards earlier this year, that really upped the production value. She sang the pop star’s hit “Bad Romance,” complete with backup dancers.

Singer says she’ll stop working after the holidays.By Jocelyn Vena

Mariah Carey called into the radio show hosted by her husband, Nick Cannon, on Friday morning (October 29) to thank her friends, fans and family who have been sending an outpouring of congratulations since Carey announced on Thursday that she is pregnant. The singer laughed a lot when dishing with Cannon all about her feelings now that she’s gone public with the big news.
“Right now I feel nauseous and exhausted!” she joked, adding that she shot some videos for her new Christmas album Merry Christmas II You, out Tuesday. “They weren’t complete music videos, but they’re gonna be cute. … I didn’t tell anybody thank you for the well wishes. I wasn’t in touch with anybody at all. You’ve been out in the world today. I’m still insulated.”
Carey, a notorious workaholic, admitted that she did have some plans to slow down once she completes press for the album. “I guess after New Year’s… I guess Christmas, obviously, I got big plans,” she revealed.
“Yes we do [have a lot of things to celebrate this year].”
The singer said that now that she’s revealed her much-speculated-about secret, she feels like a weight has been lifted off her shoulders. “We told the world what’s going on yesterday, and then I did two videos. It was a relief,” she admitted. “Today I was, like, walking around, at least everybody, I feel like it made everyone else around me a little more relaxed. I feel like they were extra super-cautious about everything, yet not because they didn’t know they were allowed to be.”

‘Animal’ remix and eight new songs feature production by Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh.By James Montgomery
Ke$ha
Photo: Jemal Countess/ Getty Images
On November 22, Ke$ha will return with Cannibal, the mini-LP/ maxi-EP “companion” piece to her platinum-plus debut disc, Animal.
Much like Lady Gaga’s The Fame Monster, Cannibal will be sold both as a standalone album and as part of a deluxe reissue of Animal. According to a press release from Ke$ha’s label, RCA, there are eight new songs on the album (including smash first single “We R Who We R”) — produced by the likes of Max Martin, Benny Blanco and Bangladesh — and a new remix.
Earlier this week, a rumored track list for Cannibal began making the rounds, featuring songs like “Rumblin’,” “Glitter and Glamour” and “Strong,” a supposed team-up with Drake. It sounded rather promising, but, unfortunately, it was also untrue.
On Thursday (October 28), RCA sent MTV News the actual track listing for Cannibal, and while it doesn’t feature any cameos by Drake (or anyone else), there is a song called — ahem — “C U Next Tuesday,” which promises to be a rather interesting listen.
Other tracks include “Sleazy,” “Blow,” “The Harold Song” (perhaps a spiritual sequel of sorts to the Animal track “Stephen”?) and the pun-a-riffic “Grow a Pear.”
In an interview earlier this month with Entertainment Weekly, Ke$ha said she aimed to create “[a] youthful and irreverent movement of the kids” with Cannibal, and describes the music on the disc as good, positive and “fun as sh–.” And judging by the song titles alone, we’re inclined to believe her.
The track list for Ke$ha’s Cannibal, according to RCA Records:
» 1. “Cannibal”
» 2. “We R Who We R”
» 3. “Sleazy”
» 4. “Blow”
» 5. “The Harold Song”
» 6. “Crazy Beautiful Life”
» 7. “Grow a Pear”
» 8. “C U Next Tuesday”
» 9. “Animal (Billboard remix)”
Will you be picking up Cannibal? Tell us in the comments!

After rejecting one beat, Em ‘picked up the phone’ for a Swizz Beatz track, Nicki says on ‘RapFix Live.’By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting by Sway Calloway
Nicki Minaj
Photo: Rachel Goldner/MTV News
Nicki Minaj has quite a few alter egos; Eminem has just one. And on the upcoming Pink Friday track “Roman’s Revenge,” Nicki’s Roman Zolanski goes toe-to-toe with Em’s Slim Shady.
“It was Roman … and it was Slim Shady,” she told MTV News’ Sway while speaking in a British accent during her appearance on “RapFix Live.”
The real Slim Shady? “The real Slim Shady,” she confirmed. “It was the most fun song on Pink Friday. It gave me life. Absolutely, darling.”
The track had long been in the works, she revealed. Swizz Beatz produced the number, and she held onto the track for months. The Queens femcee sent Eminem another record first in hopes of soliciting a collaboration with the Detroit superstar.
“We went out on a whim and put it in the air like, ‘It’d be great if he would collaborate with us,’ ” Nicki Minaj said. “I remember I kept talking about it, and I thought, ‘It can’t hurt.’ I sent him one record, and he didn’t love it. He didn’t say, ‘I don’t love it’; he just said, ‘Can you send me something that’s a little more me?’ I sent him an e-mail and thanked him for that, just having enough respect. Sometimes people don’t respond. He had the respect, at least, to treat me like a peer.”
Eventually, Nicki revisited the Swizz track and completed the song. She wasn’t sure if she wanted a feature on the track, because she thought the song was so good as it stood. After thinking it over, however, she decided to reach out to Em.
“He picked up the phone for that one,” she said.
According to Nicki, the Recovery MC was extremely detailed about his plans. The two worked out a new chorus after clearance issues killed the first one. Then they wrapped the number, which features MTV News’ 2010 Hottest MC in the Game and #6 on the list.
“Even right now, I’m in shock,” she said of the collaboration.
What do you think about Em and Nick working together? Let us know in the comments!

Loud singer tells MTV News she wanted to do ‘something daring with my hair, something fun, something unexpected.’By Rebecca Thomas
Rihanna
Photo: MTV News
The word “icon” gets tossed around a lot in pop music. So if multiplatinum pop&B star Rihanna is not yet an icon, then she’s arguably exhibiting the DNA of an icon-in-the-making, including a trend-shifting haircut that has become one of the most requested styles in salons from Brooklyn to Baltimore. And everyone knows that a look worthy of pop royalty begins with the crown — just ask Madonna.
On Wednesday, MTV News caught up with Rihanna at a New York book signing for her self-titled photography collection, and the “Only Girl (In the World)” singer said it was “exciting” that she’d inspired so many girls to chop their tresses.
“For me, when I cut my hair, it was really, really liberating,” Rihanna told us, just weeks before her hotly anticipated LP Loud is due. “And I always like to do something daring with my hair, something fun, something unexpected and something not typical.”
At her book event, the 22-year-old was sporting the long, layered, fiery-red locks she’s been rocking in recent months. But the ‘do that most have come to call “the Rihanna” is a Mohawk-inspired look that gets its flirtiness from the long strands that sweep the eyes. The singer first took shears to her Beyoncé-esque mane with the 2008 release of her Good Girl Gone Bad album, drawing “oohs” for a jet-black bob that broke with R&B tradition.
Since then, she’s subjected her version of “the Rihanna” to colors and textures of every variation, from the severe bangs of “Hard” to the Barbados-approved barrel curls of “Rude Boy.” And in turn, girls around the country paid homage with cuts of their own. But Rih admitted that convenience also factored into her decision to go short.
“[I wanted] something that, when I wake up in the morning, it kind of leads the day, you know? Kind of tells you what to wear,” she said. “When you’ve got too much options with your hair, it’s stressful; it could take two hours to get ready,” she laughed.
The editor in chief of Hype Hair, Adrienne Moore, weighed in on the appeal of Rihanna’s hairdo, particularly for a generation of girls increasingly wed to weaves and extensions. She highlighted the superstar’s willingness to a “take a risk.”
“Rihanna gives us a fascinating style that’s unexpected, and that unexpected look sets her apart from the rest,” Moore told MTV News. “She wasn’t afraid to take a risk, from the first project [A Girl Like Me], she released herself from all that long hair.”
Moore added that even in abandoning the short style for now in favor of a “voluminous” look, Rihanna has managed to keep her admirers on their toes. “It’s almost like she’s stepping back with a retro look, a soft look, as opposed to a spiky, edgy look. So she shocked people,” Moore said of the star’s latest look, describing it as a Marilyn Monroe throwback.

‘You can’t really admittedly be bumping your [own] music,’ Kim Schifino laughs to MTV News.By James Montgomery
Kim and Matt
Photo: MTV News
Matt and Kim have never exactly done things by the book — see their super-nude video for “Lessons Learned” for proof of this — so when it came time to choose a title for their new album, they did it in a fairly unconventional way.
“We had a moment where we decided the album was done, we got in our van, we drove around Brooklyn, had the windows down [and] we were blasting it, and I think it kinda really came at that point. We were like, ‘This needs to be called Sidewalks,’ ” Kim Schifino said. “But it’s kind of like the thing, you can’t wear your own band’s T-shirt, you can’t really admittedly be bumping your [own] music.”
“We’ve been in a club before where they’ve played a Matt and Kim song,” her partner, Matt Johnson, added, “and we’re kind of dancing and the Matt and Kim song comes on, and we’re like, ‘Should we stop dancing? Is that weird to be out in public dancing to your own music?’ ”
Luckily, it was a dilemma they were willing to face, and the end result was Sidewalks (in stores Tuesday), the follow-up to their breakthrough Grand album, which, of course, featured “Lessons” and — more importantly — “Daylight,” a song that brought them a modicum of fame (and some cash in their pockets) when it was featured rather prominently in a commercial for Bacardi.
Thanks to the success of both, the stakes are definitely raised for the Brooklyn duo this time out. That’s why they’ve got big plans for the video for Sidewalks’ first single, “Cameras” (details of which they’re still hesitant to share), and another still-to-be-named clip, which, hopefully will co-star another guy who’s well-known around Brooklyn’s Williamsburg neighborhood: Anthony Delia, the so-called “Subaru Dude” who cruises the streets in his car belting out oldies. When you think about it, it’s a rather nice way of bringing things full-circle.
“There’s this guy in Williamsburg who rides around and he sings oldies … he drives around just belting it out,” Schifino laughed. “I really want to do a video where we convince him that we get in the back, he drives us around, and he sings one of our songs.”
“But only .0001 percent of the people would know who that is,” Johnson said. “He’s always out there. I see him more than I see most of my friends.”
What do you think of Matt and Kim’s video idea? Share your thoughts in the comments!

‘It’s like Justin and Timbaland, Usher and Jermaine,’ King of Hearts singer says of bond with his producer.By Jayson Rodriguez
Lloyd
Photo: MTV News
In pairing with Polow Da Don, Lloyd said he’s found his musical partner, the producer that he can make a historic run with along the lines of some of the most dynamic duos in pop history.
“In my opinion, and this is a bold statement, but it’s like Michael and Quincy, it’s like Justin and Timbaland, Usher and Jermaine,” Lloyd told MTV News. “It’s that consistency that you can only find from really finding the right chemistry with the right person. As an artist, I can speak for everyone when I say chemistry is a big, big part of success.
Currently, “Lay It Down,” the Polow Da Don-produced single from Lloyd’s forthcoming King of Hearts album, is a top 20 hit on the Billboard Hip-Hop and R&B chart.
Lloyd inked a deal with Interscope Records for the album after spending years with Irv Gotti on the Inc.’s roster.
Earlier this year, the Atlanta singer spoke about his producer’s dedication while on the set of Lloyd Banks’ “Any Girl” video, which Lloyd is featured in.
“He’s dedicated,” Lloyd said of Polow. “The greatest thing about Polow is there’s no amount of time that’s unnecessary when it comes to making something the best, whether it takes two days or two months for one track. I’ve seen Polow sit with one song for six days and perfect it. You can hear the difference in the quality against someone else’s music. It sounds completely different.”
