If the Summit Entertainment marketing machine has done its job, you’ve probably seen the eye-catching movie posters for the studio’s latest release “50/50.” The goofy one-sheet depicts a memorable scene from the film in which Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s cancer-stricken Adam shaves his head, while a dubious Adam (played by Seth Rogen) looks on.

It’s one of the movie’s many lighthearted moments, adding levity to what could otherwise be a downer drama. But according to the film’s stars, the take wasn’t as carefree as it may have looked.

“My heart was beating hard, because we only had one take because you can’t shave your head twice. It doesn’t work,” Gordon-Levitt said at the “50/50″ premiere earlier this week in New York. “Normally, you can always do it over again when you’re making movies. You get a take two. But we only got take one, and it worked.”

Apparently, Gordon-Levitt had another reason to be nervous about the scene — it wasn’t scripted. According to producer and co-star Rogen, the two just played it by ear.

“We only had one shot at it,” Rogen recalled. “It was the first day of filming, and we improvised the whole thing, which is not wise when it’s something you have one take for, but it turned out funny. It went exactly how you see it in the movie, which was pretty good, I think.”

Lady Gaga and her pal, Thierry Mugler designer Nicola Formichetti, hit Paris Fashion Week once again, dropping a new film during the Mugler women’s wear show on Wednesday.

As MTV News previously reported, Gaga and Formichetti teamed up with directors Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin for the project. On Thursday (September 29), fans not in Paris for Fashion Week got to see a special edit of the film when it premiered online.

The video, which mixes Mugler runway show footage with clips from the new Gaga film, offers another take on Mother Monster’s ever-evolving persona. It opens on a close-up of Gaga’s face, her teeth diamond-encrusted, as she says, “Sometimes, my heart sometimes feels so black … and other days my heart feels like rainbows.”

She flips her multicolored hair, saying, “I am Paris. We are Paris.” In the next scene, a three-headed Gaga dances while a haunting track plays in the background. The image is reminiscent of the one that appeared on the cover of V magazine earlier this year. (As for the runway show, the clothes seen in the video are futuristic in style, in mostly muted tones.)

The directors, Inez and Vinoodh, worked with Gaga on her “Yoü and I” fashion films and, so far, three have featured some of her alter egos, including the nymph, the bride and Yüyi the mermaid. More “Yoü and I” films are expected to premiere, but when and where remains a mystery.

Gaga and Mugler have collaborated before: Besides the fact that designer Formichetti is her stylist, he has also debuted some of her brand-new music at his shows. In January, she premiered a remix of her Born This Way track “Scheiße” at a Mugler fashion show. Two months later, in March, Gaga not only walked the runway at a show, she debuted her song “Government Hooker”

The pop star is already back at work on her next album. Late Wednesday, she tweeted, “Almost #14MillionMonsters!! Thank you for making Born This Way really matter, this has been a crazy memorable year! Writing music today.”

If you’re not yet familiar with Josh Hutcherson, you’re about to be.

The talented 18-year-old has been a working actor for half his life, quietly paying his dues with roles on television and in films, earning Hollywood street cred in films like “Kicking and Screaming,” “Bridge to Terabithia” and “Journey to the Center of the Earth.”

Then last year, Hutcherson suddenly evolved from dependable sweet-faced child actor to formidable future leading man with his buzzed-about performance in the award-season darling “The Kids Are All Right.” That career momentum kicked into future-superstar gear when Hutcherson landed the highly coveted role of Peeta Mellark in the big-screen adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ best-selling “Hunger Games.”

All things considered, it’s a no-brainer that Hutcherson made our New Class list as the “Actor Most Likely to Play a Superhero.” MTV News caught up with him recently to talk about the honor, his very busy year and, of course, “The Hunger Games.”

MTV News: You’ve experienced the whole award and recognition thing before, but how does it feel to be named to our New Class?

Josh Hutcherson: It’s very nice, especially to be considered with the group I’m in here with, all peers of mine I admire very much. I’ve been an actor for a long time, so to finally get some recognition from some people that I think are really cool is pretty nice.

MTV: It seems like this past year has been a whirlwind. Take us through all the projects you’re juggling at the moment.

Hutcherson: It’s been crazy. I shot “Journey 2: The Mysterious Island” the end of last year and the beginning of this year, then I went into a little short film I shot in Cuba with Benicio Del Toro ["7 Dias en La Habana"], which was really fun, and then this summer the whole time I spent shooting “The Hunger Games,” which was an amazing experience. Very exciting, and I can’t wait for that to come out.

MTV: Is there someone in the business whose career you’d like to emulate?

Hutcherson: I have a few people. I’ve always been a big Jake Gyllenhaal fan. I like how he goes from doing a bigger studio movie to a more independent film. I am a huge Christian Bale fan; I think he’s incredible and can play any role and kill it. And I’m also a die-hard Ryan Gosling fan, so those are my guys I’d like to be like.

MTV: Do you make a conscious effort to go from smaller, independent films as well as big studio films?

Hutcherson: Yeah. It’s all about balance; everything in life is about balance, in my opinion. You have to do the big studio movies to keep people caring about you in a way, and also for me, I’ve been really fortunate. I haven’t done any big studio movies that suck. They’ve all been good material and that’s the most important thing for my career, to choose the right material and to choose the characters that I care about and stories I want to tell, so that’s kind of how I’ve gone about my career since I was 9, more or less.

MTV: So let’s talk briefly about “The Hunger Games” and that crazy audition process.

Hutcherson: For the audition process, I came in the first time and read a few scenes for [director] Gary Ross and [author] Suzanne Collins and some of the other producers involved. Then maybe about a week or so, maybe two weeks later, I came in and did a screen test with [co-star] Jennifer [Lawrence], where I actually read the scenes with her so they could see how the chemistry worked. Both of them felt really great, but as an actor, you just pick apart every single thing that you do, so for me, I was on pins and needles waiting to find out. And then when I finally found out, my jaw hit the floor. I was so excited.

Despite having the year’s best-selling album (on both sides of the Atlantic) and two of the biggest singles in recent history (ditto on the whole transatlantic thing), Adele hasn’t been a music-video machine.

Sure, her “Rolling in the Deep” clip was nominated for seven awards at last month’s VMAs, but that track — much like her current smash, the stirring “Someone Like You” — became better known for its near-ubiquity on radio. And so far, it remains the only video released from her massive 21 album.

But that’s about to change. Because on Thursday, at 7:56 p.m. ET/PT on MTV, she’ll unveil the second clip off the record, for “Someone Like You.” And since we know you probably can’t wait, we’ve got an exclusive sneak peek of the video now.

Shot in Paris and directed by Jake Nava (who’s done work for Kanye West, Britney Spears and Shakira), “Someone Like You” is a somber, black-and-white affair, featuring Adele wandering the early morning streets and pining for her long-lost love. It’s a perfect match for the song’s jaw-dropping emotional range — raw and unfiltered and incredibly sad but also, in a lot of ways, beautiful and resolute.

“The location evokes style and romance,” Nava said in a statement. “And shooting early in the morning allows you to focus on Adele in this lonely and emotional space.”

So while you count the hours until the official premiere of “Someone Like You,” have a look at this exclusive preview — it’s certainly piqued our interest.

In the final minutes of Tuesday night’s “Dancing With the Stars” elimination show, it was George Clooney’s ex-girlfriend who was given the boot.

Elisabetta Canalis and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, were eliminated after landing in the bottom three alongside David Arquette and Kym Johnson and Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer.

The Italian actress and host seemed a bit jarred when it was revealed she was the contestant leaving in week two, considering that she and her partner had impressed the judges with a big improvement from last week.

“I’m not going to say much. I’m just going to say this: It’s not great, but it was better than last week,” head judge Len Goodman said before scoring her Monday. Tonioli disagreed, saying, “The gears were grinding, the engines were hot. The pistols were pumping. Keep working.”

Canalis ultimately scored 21 out of 30, which placed her right in the middle of the pack and above Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy, Arquette and Johnson, Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya and Bono and Schwimmer.

Canalis, who looked to be holding back tears, expressed how much she enjoyed her short time on the show: “I want to thank everybody, because they made me come here! Thanks to the public and everybody who voted for us. It was a great experience.”

Chmerkovskiy, a newcomer who also is Maksim’s younger brother, said he was very proud of his celeb partner. “I wish I did better for you. But I’m very lucky to be here,” he said.

That explains why she raised her hand and asked President Obama a question about bullying at a Silicon Valley fundraising event for the Commander in Chief over the weekend at the home of Facebook Chief Operating Officer Sheryl Sandberg.

The $38,500-per-couple event for around 70 guests took place under a tent in Sandberg’s yard and, according to ABC News, it’s where Gaga made good on a Twitter vow she’d posted last Wednesday in reaction to the suicide of bullied teen Jamey Rodemeyer. Gaga — who turned heads in a black dress with a dramatically plunging back, extremely high heels, a blond upswept hairdo and a black veil covering the back of her hair — brought up the issue during the Q&A segment of the event.

Though a transcript of the exchange is not available, according to reports, she first thanked Obama for what he’s done so far on the subject — which includes a forum held earlier this year about bullying and an “It Gets Better” video — and then read from what she described as a letter from a fan about the suicide of another Little Monster who had been bullied.

After congratulating the president on all of the things he’s accomplished so far in his first term, Gaga made what was described as a “general plea” to everyone in the room, including the president, to do what they can to prevent bullying. Obama then reportedly thanked her, re-iterated his administration’s anti-bullying work and spoke in general about the importance of values.

Gaga also reportedly had a bit of face time with Obama before dinner, when she walked through the photo line with her manager and spoke to the president for two minutes in a room full of other guests. The singer dedicated her song “Hair” to Rodemeyer at Saturday’s iHeartRadio festival in Las Vegas, speaking out in support of the gay teen who committed suicide last week after enduring years of bullying by his school peers.

Just days after the 14-year-old’s death, Gaga was so shaken that she called on Obama to enact laws that would make bullying a hate crime. “The past days I’ve spent reflecting, crying, and yelling,” she tweeted on Wednesday. “I have so much anger. It is hard to feel love when cruelty takes someone’s life.” She went further, posting Rodemeyer’s “It Gets Better” video, and insisting that bullying “must become illegal. It is a hate crime.”

It was then that she revealed she planned to meet with Obama to discuss the matter.

Trailer for new project hit the Net earlier this month ‘without our permission,’ Keys drummer says.

Late last month, a rather badass (and blunt-filled) trailer for Blakroc 2, the sequel to 2009′s Black Keys/ Damon Dash hip-hop project, began making the rounds on the Net.

First posted on the website of Dash’s DD172 collective, the crackling clip featured the Keys and rappers like Talib Kweli, Wiz Khalifa and Curren$y getting loose in the studio, and though no release date was given for the album, the video concluded with the promise that new music would be “Coming Soon.”

Of course, that was news to the Black Keys. Because in an interview at this past weekend’s Music Midtown festival in Atlanta, drummer Patrick Carney let it be known that folks would be waiting a long time to hear any new Blakroc tracks — at least if his band has anything to do with it.

“Blakroc 2 is not coming out soon. … Somehow, there was a trailer that was made — like, two years ago — without our permission [that] was then re-circulated again without our permission,” he told Atlanta’s 92.9 FM. “I mean, we have stuff recorded for it, we have about eight songs that are, I guess, done, but those were all recorded, like, two years ago, like around October of 2009. So Blakroc 2 … there are no plans for that to be released as an album.”

So what will become of the project? No one seems to know for sure. A spokesperson for the Black Keys was not available, and Damon Dash had no comment on the matter.

In the meantime, Carney said fans shouldn’t despair — mostly because the Keys are putting the finishing touches on their new album, which finds them reteaming with producer Danger Mouse. And, by the sound of things, it’ll be out way before Blakroc 2.

“I can just say that it’s coming out soon, and we think it’s really good,” Carney said. “[If fans were excited for Blakroc], then they can just be excited for the new Black Keys one, because that’s the only one that actually exists.”

‘Spinning Gold’ follows life of label co-founder Neil Bogart.

He once played Napster co-founder Sean Parker in “The Social Network,” and now he’s getting ready to play another real-life entrepreneur. Deadline Hollywood reports that Justin Timberlake will play ’70s record producer and Casablanca Records co-founder Neil Bogart in a new biopic.

“Spinning Gold” will take a close look at Bogart’s career as a record executive who launched the careers of acts like KISS, Parliament, Donna Summer and the Village People. “This is saga about a young dreamer who started with nothing and came of age in the ’60s and ’70s, believing anything was possible and every risk was worth taking,” said Tim Bogart, Neil’s son and the film’s writer. He said the film is “literally three decades in the making.”

Bogart died of cancer in 1982, at the age of 39. Bogart added, “We needed a young actor who can carry this picture. … When Justin walked into the room, that was the moment I had been waiting for 29 years. He has the exact same energy as my father, the same glimmer in his eye.”

A director has yet to be attached to the project, which is set to shoot in 2012. Album plans are also under way.

Fans hoping Timberlake will head back to the studio to record new music will be sad to see his film roster keeps getting filled with new projects. In November, his sci-fi flick, “In Time,” hits theaters.

“To be honest, my plan would have probably been to do another record, probably right about now. I never stop considering myself a musician. To me, it’s my bread and butter,” Timberlake said in a recent interview with Short List. “And I mean that in a personal way. I don’t mean that it finances my ‘acting hobbies.’ I joke with my friends that I should have a business card saying, ‘David Fincher put me in a movie,’ because ‘Bad Teacher’ got a blessing due to ‘The Social Network,’ and then ‘Friends With Benefits’ came out of that.

“All the movies I’ve done were just opportunities that came up, but now that they’re all coming out back-to-back, people think, ‘Oh, he’s trying to make a statement by having an acting career,’ ” he continued. “But it’s not like that for me. I don’t ever want to stop doing music.”
